Every five years the Georgia Accrediting Commission reviews schools that have been previously accredited through their agency.  The mission of the Georgia Accrediting Commission is twofold: (1) to establish standards promoting instruction of high quality for children in Georgia and (2) to encourage schools to meet the established standards.  The accreditation process is designed to establish and uphold standards, to strengthen the quality of education in each school, and to assure its membership and the general public that the established standards are related to the best educational practices.

On September 19, 2007, Griffin Christian High School had their five year review.  Dr. E. H. Harris, consultant for the Georgia Accrediting Commission conducted the review.  Dr. Harris spent 40 years in public education as assistant superintendent, interim superintendent, principal, teacher, SACS coordinator, and board member of the Griffin RESA.  Dr. Harris was very complimentary of GCHS, its faculty and students.  GCHS met all standards for accreditation and will be recommended to the executive board of the Georgia Accrediting Commission for full accreditation once again.  I would like to thank the official board of First Assembly, Pastor Randy Valimont, and the staff, students, and parents of GCHS for their continued support of the educational program.  It is a blessing to be the principal.  I look forward to the next five year review as we continue to work together for the students of GCHS.
